Mayetta Fire 7th Annual Soup Supper

     The Mayetta Fire Department is hosting our annual Soup Supper. The soup supper will be held on Saturday, February 22nd from 4 pm-7:00 pm. The dinner will be a free will donation. There will be a variety of homemade soups as well as homemade desserts. Please come and join us enjoy homemade soup, as well as supporting your local fire department!

Golf Tournament Delayed

       Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Mayetta Fire Department's annual golf tournament has been postponed to Monday, October 26th, 2015. The golf tournament will still be held at the Firekeeper Golf Course.
       If you still plan on attending the golf tournament, please let us know as soon as possible.

4th Annual "Balls of Fire" Golf Tournament

The Mayetta Fire Department is hosting their 4th annual "Balls of Fire" Golf Tournament! It's time to start registering for the tournament!

When: September 28th, 2015. 

            Registration starts at 7:00 AM
            Shotgun starts at 8:00 AM

Where: The Golf tournament will be held at the Firekeeper Golf Course, 12524 150 Rd, Mayetta, KS.

Why: All proceeds from the Golf Tournament will go to the Mayetta Fire Department. The proceeds will be used for the Mayetta Fire Department to buy new gear and equipment. 

Prizes: Prizes include a lawn mower, a new couch, gift certificates and much more!

Registration is $65 per person

Franks Retirement

On March 29th, 2015, the Mayetta Fire Department held a retirement party for Captain Frank Winters. Frank retired as of January 1st, 2015. Frank has been on the Mayetta Fire Department for 40+ years, serving as an officer for 20+ of those years. 
   Even though Frank has retired from active duty, he will still be around to help the Mayetta Fire Department whenever he can. 
Thank you for your service and everything you have done for us, Frank.

Frank's Retirement

Frank Winter, a captain of the Mayetta Rural Fire Station, has retired from firefighting. We, as a department, would like the community to join us in celebrating his retirement. 

Frank's retirement party will be held at the Mayetta Fire Department on March 29th, 2015 from 2pm-4pm.

Call Statistics

On March 8th, 2014, the Mayetta Rural Fire Station had run 66 calls for the year.
As of March 8th, 2015, the Mayetta Rural Fire Station had already run 101 calls for the year. 
The total number of calls run by the firefighters of the Mayetta Rural Fire Station in 2014 was 377 calls. This means that the Mayetta Rural Fire Station has already run 1/3 of the calls in 2015 that we did in the entire year of 2014. 
I would like to thank all of the firefighters who keep the community safe with all they do.

Results of Our Second Annual Soup Supper

     On February 7th, 2015, the Mayetta Rural Fire Station held their Second Annual Soup Supper. The firefighters and the families of the firefighters made and served Chicken and Noodle soup, Chili, and Vegetable soup, along with various homemade deserts, to those who came in to take part in the Soup Supper. At the end of the night, the Mayetta Rural Fire Station made around $400 from the donations of the community. The Mayetta Fire Station would like to thank those who came out and participated in the soup supper and donated to us. 

 Also posted were the statistics for the amount of calls and time donated to the community by the firefighters. The 2014 statistics are as follows: 
                 Medical Calls:     178

                 Grass Fires:           61
                 Auto Wrecks:        49
                 Fire Alarms:          44
                 Structure Fires:    25
                 Other Fires/Calls: 13 
                 Car Fires:                 7
                 Total  Calls:          377
   The average fire call takes two hours. The average medical call takes one hour. This means the Mayetta Rural Fire Department ran about 1.3 calls a day in 2014. Also, non-call hours donated to the community by the firefighters was 3,000 hours.

3rd Annual "Balls of Fire" Tournament Results

The Mayetta Fire Department held their 3rd annual "Balls of Fire" golf tournament on Monday September 15, 2014. This year eight and a half teams participated in the tournament. 

"It was a beautiful day for golf. I would like to personally thank everyone who came together for this years golf tournament. We were able to raise $2,050.00 for our fire department. We are not only fire fighters. We are people of the community. We are family. Look out for our next golf tournament. I already have a few surprises up my sleeve. Thank you again"- Diana Lay

During the monthly fire training, Mayetta Fire Fighters got more hands on experience. They were involved in a smaller controlled burn and the training consisted of the safe and proper ways to put out a fire.

Registration for the 3rd Annual Golf Tournament!

The Mayetta Rural Fire District is hosting their third annual "Balls of Fire" Golf tournament and it's coming up! It's time to start signing up to play or, if you don't want to play, you can always sign up to sponsor a golf hole!

Sponsors can pay $50.00 for half of a hole and $100.00 for a full hole.

Participants: it's $65 per person and $260 per foursome group.

The tournament is Saturday, September 15th, 2014 starting at 8:00 am, located at the Fire Keeper Golf course. All proceeds go to the Mayetta Rural Fire Department.
