On Thursday, April 10, 2014, the Mayetta Fire Department attended a training of different sorts. The firefighters of the Mayetta Fire Department attended a training at Todd Stauffer's, the Chief of the Department's shop, Stauffer Salvage. This training included extrication from a car from a car crash. All of the firefighters were involved in locating all of the "victims" (real people were not used, as shown in the pictures. Only dummies were used in this training), getting to the victim trapped under the car, removing the car door in the way using cutters and spreaders, and all members had an opportunity to use both the cutters and spreaders with those with experience in the equipment helping those who had never used them before. The extrication training is only one of the several hands-on training that the Mayetta Fire Department will be involved in during this year.
